"I just wanted to reiterate the extremely positive response we had at the Energy Labelling ADCO meeting held in Dublin to the new ELS labelling inspection system. Delegates were super-impressed. Just to note for those who do not know about the ADCO – this is the meeting of my counterparts from different Member States – I think 22 different countries were represented along with the European Commission at this meeting. The chair of the meeting took the unusual step of asking it to be noted in the minutes that SEAI was to be congratulated for all the hard work and expertise that had gone into developing the system.

I was lucky enough to be presenting and took the plaudits on the day but of course recognise that credit for developing the system is shared amongst quite a few people within SEAI and indeed OpenSky. So I just wanted to pass on the sentiments of the meeting to all those who played a part – and indeed a big “thank you” from me as well".

“The portal is helping us provide rich information to our faculty management team in a timely, consistent and interactive manner. Ultimately, this is enabling us to understand the student experience in detail and create a platform for maximising student achievement and retention by identifying previously unseen opportunities for continuous improvement,” he said. “It will become even more important over time as it is used to integrate wider data sets and support crossprocess decision-making and predicting outcomes.”

Michael Loftus, Head of Faculty of Engineering and Science

“To try and make information available on a much broader scale, we started a project to create an enterprise reporting portal that could be accessed initially by all senior management in one faculty, but eventually by all CIT staff who required information to make decisions,” he said.“Our mission with this project was to get the right information to the right people at the right time.”

“We are seeing an increased interest in data, the value of data, the quality of data and the importance of data. Our users are asking for more information and this is a really good thing,” he said. Perhaps the biggest indicator of the project’s success is the strength of the partnership forged between Microsoft, opensky and CIT. “We look forward to working with opensky on the next steps in our BI roadmap, including SharePoint enhancements,”

said Jonathan McCarthy identified a more immediate impact.

"iCabs is a system, delivered through an iPhone, developed specifically for the National Transport Authority's Compliance Team. iCabs allows each Compliance Officer to validate each small public  service vehicle licence (in excess of 50,000 licence entries), record all regulatory checks, create notes on each licence and issue Fixed Charge Penalties when required. iCabs is the main tool of the Compliance Officer's work and provides an excellent system for each officer to receive and provide up-to-the-minute information on every licence holder. Without iCABS, Compliance Officers would be unable to complete their tasks efficiently."

“Working with opensky was :  a co-operation project between Eolas and the opensky development team. From our initial requirements document and screen mockups,OpenSky were able to work with our database team to build the backend synchronisation process which compliments the App. opensky’s knowledge of the Android OS allowed us to push the boundaries of the App by utilising the onboard MySql on the devices. “

“We had been using a legacy system for abandoned vehicles management; however this had become slow and un-reliable. opensky’s Abandoned Vehicle Administration System has allowed our staff to simply and effectively manage the abandoned vehicles process across all seven Waste Collection Authorities in Norfolk.”

“We first approached OpenSky to develop a stock management application. From the outset, OpenSky demonstrated total commitment to understanding our requirements, challenging us at times to ensure that the end result was 100% fit for purpose. What particularly impressed us was not just the quality of the work, which was first class, but the friendliness and total professionalism of their staff, particularly their willingness to help in additional areas that they were not contractually obligated to do.  They were never too busy to help.

The result of this collaboration was that the business received a brand new system which was both intuitive and easy to use and contributed to a general increase in stock management efficiency and accuracy across our business.
As this project was so successful, we have since commissioned other projects and through their support we’re happy to say the quality of work and the professionalism of their staff has remained first rate.”

Enterprise Ireland

“In 2011 Enterprise Ireland issued a request for tender from suitable qualified companies for the supply and implementation of a budget management system as the legacy system in use had reached its end of life cycle. The budget management solution would be an integral component of Enterprise Irelands budgeting/reporting framework and crucial in the delivery of key financial information. The key functional requirements included the preparation of the annual budget, preparation of monthly management accounts, departmental budget monitoring and variance analysis. Other critical aspects of the solution would be that it was cost effective, user-friendly, fast, and intuitive.

Following the review of the market responses to the tender EI selected OpenSky as partner to develop and implement a bespoke solution. OpenSky had a first rate understanding of our requirements and quickly set about developing the solution. Phase one of the project involved developing the budget data collection tool.

OpenSky used functional specifications, technical analysis and prototype releases during this phase each of which facilitated effective progress. The budget data collection solution delivered is user-friendly, fast and meets with all our functional requirements. The tool is now used extensively throughout the organisations national and international network of departments for budget data preparation and submission. Feedback from end users of the budget data collection tool has been very positive.

hase two of the project involved the implementation and delivery of the reporting services and again the system OpenSky implemented was an excellent fit with our specified requirements. The solution leveraged elements of our existing technology infrastructure and interfaced seamlessly with our accounting system.

Significant benefits have been achieved, notably in the streamlined administration the departmental budget reports, user and security management, and enhanced BI capabilities e.g. excel cube reporting for variance analysis, drilling to transactional detail. As with the budget data collection tool, feedback from end users of the reporting services has been very positive.

OpenSky made it easy to do business with them by being very precise in showing us how they were going to meet our requirements. They implemented the agreed solution quickly and with minimal interruption to our business process. Their support and service level agreement in place has been excellent and the OpenSky support team have been very efficient in responding to questions or enhancement requests.

I highly recommend the Navigate system developed by OpenSky"
